Everyday may not be the same… and its OKAY!

Always be happy… Try to be happy… We keep hearing and many a times feeling also that is something wrong with me if I am not happy. I am also guilty of feeling and suggesting to others that “Be happy”. But the point is who doesn’t want to be happy? Who wants be sad and gloomy and crying? I definitely don’t!! I have heard this term called “fake positivity” and it has diverse meanings, faking to feel happy may also not be the thing that we need to do. Just yesterday I was having a discussion with someone who is hurting because of something and that thing has been bothering her for a long long time. And she was sad about it, she was pained about it and she was venting it out to me. I was just listening to her and listening to her. I didn’t want to give any suggestions to her to be happy, try to be happy, and try to divert your attention from that thing and blah blah blah. Why?? Because what purpose will it serve, as she is suffering because of that reason, if it is hampering her life, ...

5 classes that should be mandatory in Schools

  1. Mental health Crazy, Mad, Wierdo!! These words generally have a negative connotation attached to them and therefore, none of us want to be that in our “sane” minds. It is one taboo topic that none of us want to discuss but we definitely need to discuss. We all are going through something that is bothering us, or maybe something is making us sad or we might be feeling low, questioning our choices, sometimes crying sometimes just hanging on. But we are so scared to share it, maybe it’s the fear of being labelled “mental or unstable”. What is it with us, as a society or as an individual? Why are we so in a hate relationship with anything related to mental health? There is also this issue that the only synonym for mental illness is the person is now nuts, now this person will become dysfunctional, or not normal now, or severely ill now. It is this precise misdiagnose or bad nomenclature or misunderstanding that we all are afraid to seek advice or help or even share our feelings ...

6 rules to win in life

Have a vision for oneself What are we looking forward to? What is our aim, what is it that I really want and should? First of all, there is no fixed rule that we need or should have it, but just imagine if we have a plan, something to fulfill then we will constantly focus on how to do that. We will look for methods, we will develop or improve skills, we will research, and we will experiment. To be precise, we will be busy doing something that we really look forward to. When we have a vision, we think and know and decide that this is what we want to be, where we want to be. It leads to self-growth, and every time we complete a task, big or small, there is a sense of achievement. Compare self to the old us Yes we also say that we should not compare ourselves to others but it means that we should not compare ourselves to OTHERS, we should definitely compare ourselves with our older self.  How we were yesterday, how were we last month or maybe 5 years ago?  What is it that h...

7 Ways to be Happy in Everyday Life

Don’t show off: Half the world will be happy if they stopped worrying about making others happy with their new car or their new phone or their new dress. Previously it was about showing off to relatives and friends, and now with social media it’s like, ever one is on a race to show off to the whole world. Every single thing has to go on social media like, look I have the latest phone, people click photos standing in front of the mirror showing the logo of their phone, its doesn’t matter if the photo of the individual has come out good or not , but the logo should be visible under all circumstances. Anyone is buying a new car, first it has to be live streamed, shown to the entire world first.  I sometimes wonder if such people actually feel the real emotion of the moment ? I mean, do they really give themselves a pat, an appreciation, gratitude. Wouldn’t it be difficult as the whole focus is on capturing it through artificial lenses, and more so because it is being done to show it t...

8 Things to QUIT Today

OVERTHINKING We all are guilty on this one, isn’t it? Presentation/ interview tomorrow, what if this happens what if that happens, someone got late at night, damn what must have happened, what if, someone is not picking up my call, why, are they angry with me did I do something wrong, didn’t get reply on a message, Oh no shit must have happened, is he/she ignoring me and blah blah blah!. Sometimes, just sometimes those thoughts may be true, but definitely not most of the times.  It’s just the brain overworking. Most of the times, the story that we cook up in our brains is just a figment of imagination.   We construct situations that may or may not happen and fret over it, get stressed over it, things that have not yet become a reality, are still in our thoughts. Our figment of imagination becomes a thing to worry. There are so many things to think about, current work in office, to maintain physical and mental health, to learn more skills or hone the existing ones, to fi...
