6 rules to win in life

Have a vision for oneself

What are we looking forward to? What is our aim, what is it that I really want and should? First of all, there is no fixed rule that we need or should have it, but just imagine if we have a plan, something to fulfill then we will constantly focus on how to do that. We will look for methods, we will develop or improve skills, we will research, and we will experiment. To be precise, we will be busy doing something that we really look forward to. When we have a vision, we think and know and decide that this is what we want to be, where we want to be. It leads to self-growth, and every time we complete a task, big or small, there is a sense of achievement.

Compare self to the old us

Yes we also say that we should not compare ourselves to others but it means that we should not compare ourselves to OTHERS, we should definitely compare ourselves with our older self.  How we were yesterday, how were we last month or maybe 5 years ago?  What is it that has changed, what has changed in my health, what has changed in my qualification, what has changed in my skills? So many times we are contemplating that life is the same, I have been the same for the past 2-3 years or maybe that nothing is changing. A deep look back and wham! We see so many things are continuously changing, for good or for bad. In some health issue is bothering us continuously, and then look back on how we changed our food habits, our exercise routine, lifestyle, stress. Or if my work is suddenly pending as opposed to earlier then what changed in my daily routine. These things seem minor but as they pile up they make big changes, they can be good or bad based on where they came from.

Growth is outside the comfort zone

Comfort zone, the cozy corner, the cozy corner we all love to be in.  The safe zone where we really enjoy, where we know what is happening and why it is happening. In the comfort zone, we already know the outcomes, we have been there done it all. We know the result, we know the measures, we know the methods, and we know every little tiny detail. So, we are laid back, chilled out, we know we can handle it. It is definitely not a bad thing; just imagine the time and efforts one must have invested to know it all. But then, we also stop growing as we are already well prepared for all the scenarios. So, what is it that we are seeking, growth or rest? Its subjective and a decision solely on us.

Reading books is an advantage

Books are always good; books are a man’s best friend, ask any reader and they will hundreds of good things to say. Pick any book, fiction, non-fiction, self-help or anything, reading it opens a world of information and imagination. When we are reading we are using our imaginative powers to develop that picture, that scene. Our brain cells are all the more active creating a distinct picture of that scenario we just read, imagine reading Harry Potter and thinking how their school looks, how the characters look and the scenes and the game. Non-fiction books open a world of information for us, data, facts, things to relate to, and concepts to understand the world a bit better. Self-help books have so many minor and major things that we can introduce in our lives and change it for better, to work efficiently or to manage time or to be healthier and so on. Every book has something to teach, we take back something from every single book, period!

Stay humble

Humility is an asset!  We must have seen so many successful people being humble. Although this definitely doesn’t mean all the rude and mean celebrity stories that come in are false. Of course it differs from person to person but yet the humility that we carry is the aura that we spread around. Being humble keeps us grounded, not letting things go in our head. And this is extremely important for us as a human also, the moment we start flying around in our head that’s the moment we stop evolving, our learning stops, our empathy disappears. And the point is, we could make someone’s day just by smiling, or just by not being mean. After all, being human always matters.

Never quit the game

Success doesn't come easily to anybody. Actually to be precise one has to work really hard for it. There will be many obstacles before we reach our destination.  So these obstacles are actually our testing phases.  Those points where we lack, where we need to grow where we need to do something else where we need to find some other measure.  So rather than quitting the game and getting out of the place we actually need to fight or find solutions. And it is also not that we face hardships just once or twice in our lives, we will continuously face things, big or small, and it is through all those battles that we grow and mature and evolve in our lives.

Let’s bring a beautiful heart into Fashion, not faces and dresses!

Just yesterday I was reading an article and it had before and now pictures of social media influencers and I noticed one common thing in quite a few of them. Can you guess?? Their faces had changed, and the change was not natural. I mean our appearances also change as we age,  and not just age grooming, good diet, exercise, emotional health etc all these factors also have a big impact on our physical appearance. But the change I am talking about here is through artificial things, cosmetic surgery and fillers and all, like permanent changes. Now, first of all I would prefer not to comment on why they did it, what prompted them to do it and do they look good or bad now! No, not at all!! This is not a domain I would want to discuss to ponder on. It’s fine, they wanted it, and they did it. They feel good about it; it gives them confidence and satisfaction, wonderful! The whole idea of judging someone, based on their looks, clothes, even personality for that matter has to go ou...

Everyday may not be the same… and its OKAY!

Always be happy… Try to be happy… We keep hearing and many a times feeling also that is something wrong with me if I am not happy. I am also guilty of feeling and suggesting to others that “Be happy”. But the point is who doesn’t want to be happy? Who wants be sad and gloomy and crying? I definitely don’t!! I have heard this term called “fake positivity” and it has diverse meanings, faking to feel happy may also not be the thing that we need to do. Just yesterday I was having a discussion with someone who is hurting because of something and that thing has been bothering her for a long long time. And she was sad about it, she was pained about it and she was venting it out to me. I was just listening to her and listening to her. I didn’t want to give any suggestions to her to be happy, try to be happy, and try to divert your attention from that thing and blah blah blah. Why?? Because what purpose will it serve, as she is suffering because of that reason, if it is hampering her life, ...

Am I too Late?

Places to visit before you are 20, goals to achieve before you are 25, Assets to build before 30, how to retire in your 30s….. Do these taglines look familiar? Well, they do to me. All these pages and channels that are telling us to achieve something with attached times lines, 20s, 30s, and 40s. So many times I am visiting those pages or channels to find motivation and it actually ends up demotivating me, and I am like Oh No, I am too late for this. And I feel that slight regret of “Oh I wish I had started then” but yes I bounce back very soon. But this is a current phase in my life when I am comfortable with a lot of things and most of all I am comfortable “Being Me at this point in life”, I love it where I am today. Hold on, hold on it’s not about preaching where I blabber you should do this you should do that blah blah blah. I remember I was watching this video where the person was talking about investments and tips to invest and all, everything was going great and then he s...
